Super Bowl-Experience of a Lifetime

There are very few items that I have on my bucket list, partially because I have never spent a lot of time working on it, partially because I am young still and also because I have just been so thankful for all that God has given me. For my age, I have lived a great life.

One of my bucket list items was to go to a super bowl. This year, I had the chance to do just that. It was within driving distance and I was going to get to watch my favorite player (Peyton Manning) and one of my favorite teams, the Denver Broncos play. The truth is I had hoped they would win, but did not expect it. I cannot lie and say that I was not sad at the outcome, but it did not lessen my experience (a win would have certainly enhanced it though!). I must say this was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. To be there and be a part of this game was incredible. To be at the first cold air outdoor game was also cool. To experience New York City for only the second time in 25 years was also a treat! I had so much fun, got to do and see so much, met people, watched people, ate well, experienced culture and shopped well.

To top it off, I got great pictures, saw an incredible half time show and was on national television. You can see my 3 seconds of fame by looking up “Queen Latifa’s America the Beautiful Super Bowl” on You Tube. Needless to say, there were not many disappoints other than some of the travel and the game outcome. I have so much to be thankful for and my time there was a reminder of how blessed I am. I was also encouraged as I connected with old friends and was able to be encouraged in ways that I have failed to see and embrace.

Plus, I checked this once in a lifetime experience off my bucket list.

Maybe it won’t be a once in a lifetime experience…
